Mud/ Sediment Removal
When designed properly, a sediment
pond will collect and retain sediment. To maintain optimum
efficiency, the sediment needs to be removed. Highly saturated
soils can be messy and difficult to remove without spilling or dripping.
Adding a soil-specific polymer to the soil and mixing to bind it
together, thickens the soil and makes it easier to remove.

Apply the soil-specific polymer
evenly over the surface of the sediment. Using the bucket of the
removal equipment, stir it into the soil to a maximum of 3 feet deep.
Allow the polymer to react with the soil for 10-20 minutes, the more
mixing that is done, the less time this will take. The polymer
will cause the sediment to thicken, allowing for easier removal.
